At Love Cats ASBL, we believe that every stray cat deserves a chance at a safe, peaceful life. Founded in 2020 in Saint-Ghislain, Belgium, Love Cats is a nonprofit organization (ASBL) dedicated to the protection, sterilisation, and care of stray and abandoned cats. Our work is rooted in the idea that compassion and patience can rebuild trust and transform the lives of even the most vulnerable animals.
Our registered headquarters are located at Rue des Eaux Chaudes 10, 7331 Saint-Ghislain, where we coordinate our rescue, care, and outreach efforts with the help of volunteers, foster families, and partner associations.
What We Do
Every day, stray cats across Belgium face hardship, injury, and neglect. At Love Cats, we work to break that cycle through:
Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR)
We humanely trap stray cats, provide sterilisation and medical care, and return them to their environment when safe and appropriate — helping control the population and improve overall welfare.
Foster Care and Temporary Housing
For cats that are ill, young, injured, or too vulnerable to return to the street, we provide foster homes where they receive care, stability, and socialisation while waiting for adoption.
Adoption Support
We help rehome cats that are ready for permanent families. Our process is thoughtful and responsible — ensuring the right match for each animal and guardian.
Public Awareness and Education
We inform local communities about responsible cat care, the importance of sterilisation, and how to live compassionately alongside stray cats. This includes outreach events, information campaigns, and direct community engagement.
Partnership and Solidarity
We collaborate with other ASBLs, shelters, veterinarians, and local authorities to share resources, coordinate rescues, and achieve more effective, lasting results.
Our Values
Respect
Every cat has the right to live free from fear and suffering, no matter its past or condition.
Responsibility
We believe in collective responsibility — that the health and safety of animals is a shared duty between individuals, communities, and institutions.
Transparency
We act in accordance with Belgian nonprofit law, with clear and ethical procedures in all areas of our work — from care decisions to financial stewardship.
Patience
Cats heal on their own time. Whether it takes a day or a year, we commit to letting them choose the pace of trust and recovery.
Who We Are
Love Cats ASBL is managed by a committed board of volunteers, supported by a growing network of foster families, local partners, and individuals who give their time, homes, and hearts to the cats who need them most. The association is currently led by President Amélie Cammarata, alongside Secretary Joëlle Lambelin, Treasurer Julie Mach, and Board Member Pascale Saussez.
As outlined in our statutes, our decisions are guided by the mission of the association, the best interest of the cats in our care, and the applicable laws of Belgium.
How You Can Help
Our work relies entirely on the generosity and solidarity of the public. Here’s how you can make a difference:
Adopt a cat ready for a second chance at life.
Become a foster and offer a temporary safe haven.
Volunteer to help us trap, care for, or transport cats.
Donate to help fund veterinary care, food, and sterilisation.
Spread the word — talk to friends and family about our mission and the importance of sterilisation and responsible care.
At Love Cats, we imagine a future where no cat is born into a life of fear or abandonment. Together, with patience and compassion, we can build that future — one rescue, one recovery, one home at a time.
Thank you for standing with us.
